INSTRUCTIONS TO CONTRIBUTORS
Submission :Papers are to be submitted to Secretary of the  Editorial Committee ,Iraq Nat. Hist. Mus. University of Baghdad, Baghdad ,Iraq ,In English with Arabic abstract.
Manuscript :The manuscript should be submitted type ,double spaced in the copies written in concise and clear language . All page should be numbered consecutively , including the containing table and captions to figures which are to be placed after the text .Material should be arrange in the following order :
 (1) Title , name/s and address/es of author/s.
 (2) Main text ;Introduction ,Material and Methods , Results, Discussion, Acknowledgement and Literature Cited.
     Short scientific notes are be presented in essay-type, paragraphed article without heading or subheadings except for the title and the author/s name/s and address/es . Tables and figures may appear in these notes . Acknowledgement and Literature Cited should follow the main body of the article in the same manner as that of the technical paper.
     Theses – abstract pertinent to the scope of the Bulletin are to be published as the appeared  in the original theses.
References: The list of literatures cited inside the text , must be given in alphabetical order of author names. The title of journal should be abbreviated in accordance with the Biological Style Manual. The following style is used:
Ticehurst, G. B., Buxton, P. A. & Cheesman, R. E.1922 The birds of Mesopotamia, Pt. 1. J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc ., 28:210-250.
Link, G. K. K. 1928 Bacteria in relation to plant diseases. Pp590-606. In :E.O. Jordan and 1.S. Folk (eds.). The newer knowledge of bacteriology and immunology. Univ. Chicago Press, Chicago.
Depending upon the construct of the sentence, the citation will appear as follows: Nazir and Haitham (1965) or (Nazir and Haitham,1965). Where there are more than two authors, the first citation should include all the names and subsequent citation should be in the form (Nazir et, al,.1965). Where more than one paper by the same author/s have been published in the same year, they are cited as Nazir (1965a), (1965b) etc.
Table and figure: Tables to typed on separate sheets and should be titled. Excessive foot –notes should be avoided. Legend should be concise and yet clearly explain the table and figures.   
  Photograph must be printed on glossy paper. A size of 5″x7″ is adequate. Black and White drawings with India ink are to be made on white stock or tracing paper.
   Arabic numbers are to be used in numbering table and figure. Legend accompanying figure should be type on separate sheet and numbered to correspond with the number of the figures.
Reprint: Authors will receive 20 reprint free charge. Further
 Galley proof: A galley proof shall be sent to the author prior to printing, and  corrected galley is to be returned promptly.
 Reprint: Authors will receive 20 reprint free charge. Further copies may be obtained on payment and the number required should be specified when the paper is submitted.
  The contributors are entirely responsible for their statements published Bulletin.

   The “Iraq Natural History Museum Publication ” was instituted in 1950. The publication serves as a medium for original papers based principally upon the museum, and other papers dealing with filed and museum techniques, monographic  studies,  and also suitable contributions not within  the scope of the Bull. Iraq Nat. Hist. Mus.
   In 1961 a separate supplementary series ” Bull. Iraq Natural History Museum ” was instituted and is devoted to unpublished original papers. Short scientific notes and theses abstracts in the field of Biology and Geology of Iraq and neighboring countries. Volumes of the Bulletin are issued in parts, numbered 1 through 4, and published as material become available.
  The Publication and Bulletin are published at irregular intervals. Both series are offered in exchange to institutions serial publications, and , are widely distributed to principal biological libraries of the world .
